The New England Region is one of the 40 regions of USA Volleyball. By registering for a membership with NERVA, you also become a member of USA Volleyball – the only recognized national governing body of the sport in the United States by the USOPC and the FIVB.

Getting Started

You must be a current registered member to participate in NERVA and USAV events. This is required of all junior players (18 and under), coaches, club directors, officials, chaperones, admins, etc. NERVA only registers members through USA Volleyball! Click the tabs below to see your options.

You can also add membership cards to your Apple or Google Wallet. This can be done from your email confirmation of your membership purchase or directly from SportsEngine! To see step-by-step instructions, use this SportsEngine “How To.”

Yes. Each club establishes their own tryout fee, and you must pay this to each club you tryout for or each clinic you participate in. The clubs use this tryout/tune-up clinic fee to cover gym rentals, t-shirts, coaches, etc. Each club is run as an independent business under the rules and regulations of NERVA. Please contact the individual club for questions relating to their fees!

Clubs send direct club assignment requests via email from SportsEngine to players and coaches who join their organization. These requests can be accepted directly from your Household page on SportsEngine or from the request email! You must be assigned to a club to get placed on a roster for in-season events. There is no option to pick a club before, during, or after the purchase process.

To upgrade a Tryout membership for a junior player, you will need to open the New England Region Membership Purchase page on SportsEngine.

If you have not logged into your account, SportsEngine will first prompt you to login and then you will choose the player you are purchasing the full season membership for. After you choose the player and the membership you need, SportsEngine will walk you through the remaining steps of the upgrade!

REGARDLESS OF DIVISION: Junior players who are already 18 years old or will be 18 years old on/before August 31, 2025 are required to be SafeSport trained to be eligible to play during the 2024-2025 season. Please select the 24-25 NERVA Junior Player – SafeSport Required membership on SportsEngine to be eligible to play! All 24-25 memberships will be available starting August 1, 2024.

No. Regardless of other roles, coaches must choose the 24-25 NERVA Adult Coach of Juniors membership to be allowed to participate in any USAV/RVA event. Coaches are required to successfully pass a background screen, be SafeSport trained, and complete IMPACT prior to participation. All 24-25 memberships will be available starting August 1, 2024.

No. Parents only need 1 account/login to purchase memberships for their player(s).

When you purchase a membership for the first time, SportsEngine will prompt you to create a profile for yourself as the account owner and then you can add multiple profiles for your players by clicking the “Add A Child” button. If you are a returning parent and purchasing memberships for a new season, you will simply select your player’s profiles that you have already added to your account.

The player’s membership will first need to be cancelled by NERVA. Please contact commissioner@nevolleyball.org for assistance!

After the cancellation, please use this How To Fix A Membership Purchased For Parent Instead Of Athlete for steps to purchase a new membership in your player’s name.

All 24-25 full season NERVA memberships expire on August 31, 2025. This does not include Tryout memberships! Tryout memberships will expire on June 30, 2025.
